For Bid Express owner-agencies
In this article:
A component template is a standard component modified to fit the needs of your owner-agency's solicitations. For example, if the same documents are required for multiple solicitations, you can create a template of the required documents instead of recreating the component each time. Not all components can be used to create component templates.
Add or edit a component template
-
To add the component, drag the component from the slider as you would any solicitation component.
- To edit the component, click Edit in the component's header.
- Change its title to reflect what you want displayed in the Components slider and add or change the component contents.
-
Save the component.
-
Click More for your component and select Copy to Our Templates.
The Bid Express software saves the component at the end of the slider. You can now use the component template in all your solicitations and requests.
Use a component template
To use a component template in your solicitation, drag it into the work area from the Components slider like you would a standard component. Templates display at the end of the slider.
If you would like to see only templates in the slider, click the Filter icon above the slider. The Bid Express service displays the filter choices.
Standard | Shows only standard components. |
Custom | Shows only custom components. |
All | Turns the filter off and shows both standard components and custom components. |
The icon turns blue when there's a filter in use. If you don't remember which filter is selected, click the filter icon. A check mark displays next to the active filter.
You can also enter the name of the component in the empty field at the bottom of the filter list. The Filter will find the component even if it's not part of the current list.
Delete a component template
When you delete a component template from the Components slider, it will not appear in any future solicitations or requests. Deleting the template from the slider removes it from the Bid Express service, not just the current solicitation or requests, but won't affect any solicitation that already has it in use.
-
With your solicitation open, locate the component template in the Components slider.
-
Click the X for the component template.
-
Click OK in the confirm delete message that displays or click Cancel keep your template.
-
If you click OK, the Bid Express service displays a successfully deleted message.
